Tucker Carlson calls Iran war the end of Trump and | Political News

Former MAGA-aligned, turned anti-Trump conservative pundit Tucker Carlson has warned that the Iran war might be the president’s political downfall.

Carlson, who formally turned his back on the Republican Party earlier this week during an episode of the “Can’t Be Censored” podcast, said the battle might be a blow to his popularity.

Speaking to Gossip Wire News, Carlson said he warned Trump at the starting of the war in February.

“Of course it’s the end … and I said this to him in February,” Carlson said. “I said what he already knew. I mean, Trump is smart, and I didn’t tell Trump anything that he didn’t know and understand… He understands big picture politics as well.”

Carlson added that the war marked the “end” of the MAGA motion. “There is no future of the MAGA movement,” he said, assessing that the war will cull it.

He added that he warned the forty seventh president that his legacy could be the Iran war, invoking the instance of former Republican President George W. Bush, who still had the weight of the 2003 Iraq war and 2008 recession over his head.

“What’s the Bush presidency about?” Carlson said. “It’s about the Iraq war and the financial collapse of 2008. Those are its defining facts.”

“And that will be you. It doesn’t matter what else … you’re the Iran war guy if you do this. He knew that. Boy, did he know that. But he did it anyways.”

Carlson has been outspoken against the Iran war on quite a few events.

When Trump posted on Easter Sunday, threatening to bomb Iran’s energy plants, Carlson called the post “Vile on every level,” and accused Trump of threatening to commit a war crime.

He also publicly apologized on his “The Tucker Carlson Show” podcast for aligning himself with Trump and the MAGA motion, saying he felt “tormented” by the function he performed in Trump’s 2024 second-term election.

“I’ll be tormented…And I want to say that I’m sorry for misleading people, it was not intentional,” he explained in a earlier episode of his podcast.

Carlson said earlier this week that he’d neither be supporting Democrats or Republicans after asserting his break from the Republican social gathering.

“I would not support the Republican Party,” Carlson said. “There’s no chance I would support the Republican Party. I’m not going to support the Democratic Party — I don’t know what I’m going to do,” he said.
