Tyson Fury U-turns on sex ban as love life with | Boxing News
Tyson Fury seems to have made a dramatic U-turn on his pre-fight sex ban after revealing his love life is now “thriving.” The former heavyweight champion makes his return to the ring on Saturday evening, ending the latest retirement he announced following his second successive defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024. The Gypsy King takes on Arslanbek Makhmudov live on Netflix at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and despite practically 16 months out of the ring, Fury has made a notable change to his pre-fight preparation routine.
Ahead of his trilogy bout against Deontay Wilder in October 2021, the 37-year-old forged doubt on the advantages of abstaining from sex during training camps, yet confirmed he would stick to a sex ban before that specific combat. He said at the time: “No shagging before fights? Nah, that’s a myth, don’t believe it. But my d*** will be in my pants – it’s in there more or less full-time but it might be coming out after the fight.”
“I don’t believe in sex in training camp, I am an old school fighter and I like to keep nice and strong, keep it all in the tank and then take out all the aggression on the night.
“I’m not relieving myself once a week – let alone once or seven instances a day. I do not even keep in mind when I had my last w***!” A wealth of research has been carried out into the potential benefits of abstaining from inappropriate activity.
Some studies indicate it could trigger a short-term surge in testosterone, which may increase aggression. Many boxers also subscribe to the belief that sex weakens the legs, potentially hampering their footwork inside the ring.
Despite this, Fury has thrown out that rule ahead of his clash with Makhmudov, as he spoke candidly about the frequency of his intimate life during the latest series of At Home With The Furys. He revealed: “My love life’s thriving.
“I’m having sex at least four or five times a week. Paris, she is that ride-or-die chick. The woman’s been my wife for 20 years near on. Is she the luckiest lady on Earth? One hundred per cent.”
The couple share seven youngsters – Venezuela, 16, Prince, 13, Tyson II, eight, Valencia, six, Adonis, 5, Athena, 4, and Rico, two.
Despite their already chaotic home life, Fury revealed that his aim is to father 10 youngsters. He added: “We might have another child, number eight. Just to see if I’ve still got it. But I want ten. It was always going to be ten.”
