Undrafted linebacker Jeremiah “Scooby” Williams’ goals of making an NFL roster have been dashed for the time being after a failed bodily ended his short stint with the Vikings, according to The Athletic.

He celebrated the news with a co-post, along with the Aggies’ account, to his Instagram feed, with the post saying he had signed with Minnesota.

Something appeared amiss when the Vikings launched their minicamp roster last week without Williams listed, and Sports Illustrated reported he never formally signed with the crew due to the bodily issue.

Williams battled accidents in the ultimate two seasons of his collegiate profession that doubtless factored into why he fell on crew’s draft boards.

His 2024 season with the Aggies — his first after three years with Florida — ended after 11 video games due to a torn meniscus in his knee that finally required offseason surgical procedure.

Williams dealt with ankle points this past yr that restricted him to seven video games.

When healthy, Williams produced strong numbers, tallying 132 mixed tackles and 15 1/2 tackles for loss (TFL), plus two sacks and interceptions each, across 43 video games.

The Athletic reported that the Birmingham, Ala. native entered the yr with early-round grades before he struggled to keep on the sector.

“Williams doesn’t have a distinguishing trait, but he’s solid across the board with the size, speed and strength to carve out a depth role in the NFL,” Dane Brugler wrote.

“Staying off the injury report could be the greatest obstacle for his pro career.”

And, yes, Williams’ nickname is linked to the favored cartoon crime-solving canine.

Williams used to stroll around Ramsay High School (Ala.) with blue and pink Scooby Doo fruit snacks, which led to his mates creating the nickname, he told the Gainesville Sun.

“They were just so good and they were like ‘You are what you eat’ so Scooby snacks,” Williams said in 2023.
