The majority of Hungarian voters consider that Viktor Orbán’s ruling Fidesz-KDNP Party Alliance will win Sunday’s parliamentary election, a new ballot discovered.

The Democracy Institute asked 1,450 likely Hungarian voters just days before the election about their voting decisions.

The majority of Hungarian voters who responded to the survey said they believe Orbán’s far-right nationalist party will win again, marking the ruling party’s sixth win in a row.

When asked who they believe would win regardless of who they plan to vote for in Sunday’s election, 51% of likely voters said they believe Fidesz-KDNP will win the race. However, its opposition party, Tisza, didn’t fall far behind, as 48% of voters said they believe Tisza would take home the gold. One percent of likely voters were unsure.

The voter split between the two main parties came even closer when the respondents were asked who they plan to cast their ballots for on Sunday.

The poll found that 44% of likely voters who responded to the survey plan to vote for Fidesz-KDNP compared 43% of likely voters who plan to vote for Tisza, a center-right, pro-European party in Hungary.

The remaining responses include 6% for Our Homeland (Mi Hazánk), 4% for Democratic Coalition (DK), 3% for MKKP and 8% undecided.

However, several reports suggest that Magyar’s Tsiza party is on track to defeat Orbán’s far-right Christian nationalist movement after 16 years in power.

A Publicus Institute poll published Friday by Hungarian newspaper Nepszava found that the majority (52%) of undecided voters planned to vote for Tisza compared to 39% for Fidesz-KDNP.

The newspaper notes that the survey reflects a 15-point decline compared with the 2022 election results.

A polling average created with LOESS smoothing shows Tisza at 49% in 2026, a 18% jump from 2024, compared to Fidesz-KDNP at 41%, down 2% from 2024, Anadolu Agency experiences.

Fidesz-KDNP is 11 factors behind Tisza, according to polling from POLITICO, and Research Center polling exhibits Tisza main Fidesz-KDNP by 14 proportion factors among determined voters, reflecting a 2-point lead drop from January, GWN experiences.
