Wheel of Fortune fans fuming after contestant was | TV Shows

Wheel of Fortune fans think one of the latest contestants got “ripped off.”

In the past week, the ABC game show’s viewers have been confused over a contestants’ mispronunciation and gambling choices.

However, during the last episode, the fans turned against the show instead when one player wasn’t given the prize fund she deserved.

Denise Zinzi competed against Yumemi Turk from Torrance, California, and Chris Wiley from Meridianville, Alabama.

During the Mystery Round, the contestants had to solve a four-word Before and After puzzle. Once it was Zinzi’s turn, the board read: “L O V E / L E T T E R / O _ / R E S I G N _ T I O N.”

When the Virginia native attempted to guess, she said “Love Letter Of Resination,” without pronouncing the “G” in the phrase.

After checking with production, host Ryan Seacrest responded: “No, that’s not it.”

Turk then had a chance to answer: “Love Letter Of Resignation.”

Once Seacrest said the contestant’s guess was correct, fans ran to Reddit to judge what they believed to be an unfair ruling.

“I think they ripped Denise off, with the ‘Letter of Resignation’ puzzle tonight. Bless her heart,” wrote one viewer.

Another noted: “She was ripped off, she had already put the G on the board, she was obviously saying ‘resignation.'”

While many believed she deserved the points, others disagreed, with one stating: “She was absolutely not ripped off. She didn’t know the word. She made one up.”

Someone else added, “Resination is not the same as resignation.”

A fan questioned why Denise didn’t say the phrase correctly.

They said: “Wondering if she has an accent. Strange you couldn’t hear the ‘G.’ “Resination” with the G on the board. Feel bad for her.”

Turk’s points for that puzzle allowed her to win the episode and head home with $37,950.

Despite Denise’s loss, it was still a memorable experience for her.

On Facebook, she wrote: “I had the amazing opportunity to be a contestant on Wheel of Fortune with Ryan Seacrest! Even better—my husband and kids were in the audience cheering me on. It was truly a bucket list experience!”
