Wheel of Fortune slammed as player misses huge | TV Shows
Wheel of Fortune fans believe the latest contestant had no chance at a huge win.
The ABC series, hosted by Ryan Seacrest, is celebrating its 50th anniversary and as they do so, they have treated fans to special surprises like a Pat Sajak cameo.
They stepped up the festivities with a high-scoring game but fans weren’t pleased once another tough puzzle was displayed on the board.
The January 8th episode had all three contestants reaching totals in the five figures at first. Maintenance electrician Jason Blackwell was losing the entire game until he made a tremendous comeback during the final Speed Up round, where he solely earned $24,000.
He ended up winning the game with $27,000, which was about a $3,000 lead against his opponents.
As he tried to guess, he even joked and tried to answer: “Not getting this prize.”
Unfortunately, he ran out of time and lost the chance to win $70,000.
Fans were upset at the low odds as they rushed to the comment section on Youtube.
“Nearly impossible under that pressure,” one said.
Another added: ““Very tricky tough puzzle.”
Someone else suggested: “the writers looks like they will pick the words with the letter that will call least favor like F, W, or least popular.”
Wheel of Fortune airs on ABC every weeknight at 7:30 pm EST.
