Local officers said Good posed no hazard to the ICE agent who shot her, while the Trump administration says the agent acted in self-defense.

During a White House press briefing, The Hill’s Niall Stanage requested: “Earlier you were defending ICE agents generally and earlier Secretary Noem spoke to the media and she said among other things they are doing everything correctly. 32 people died in ICE custody last year. 170 US citizens were detained by ICE and Renee Good was shot in the head and killed by an ICE agent. How does that equate to them doing everything correctly?” Leavitt responded: “Why was Renee Good unfortunately and tragically killed?”

When Stanage claimed it was because an ICE agent “acted recklessly and killed her unjustifiably,” an infuriated Leavitt snapped back: “OK, so you’re a biased reporter with a left-wing opinion,” main the reporter to ask: “What do you want me to do?”

“I guess you never even read about Laken Riley or Jocelyn Nungaray, or all of the harmless Americans who have been killed at the palms of unlawful aliens in this nation.”

Championing ICE agents, Leavitt added: “The courageous males and girls of ICE are doing all the things in their energy to take away those heinous people and make our group safer.”

She concluded: “Shame on people such as you and the media who have a crooked and bias view and faux such as you’re a real, trustworthy journalist.”

Following the fatal shooting of Good, a mother-of-three, both Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey and Minnesota governor Tim Walz have called for an end to ICE’s presence in the city, while protests are happening across the nation.

US President Donald Trump has now threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act to deploy army forces in Minnesota to stop the anti-ICE protests.
