Wicked fans slam Zoe Saldanas Critics Choice win | TV Shows

Wicked fans watching the Critics Choice Awards were left furious while watching the show, as Ariana Grande lost out on a Best Supporting Actress award once again to Zoe Saldana and Emilia Perez.

The actress and singer already had fans fiercely defending her after her romance became the target of jokes by host Chelsea Handler, as she has already commented on her relationship and referred to it as “amazing.”

However, fans quickly went on the defensive again when Grande, who was up for Best Supporting Actress in a Film, lost the award to Zoe Saldana, who repped Emilia Perez solo after the film was plagued by scandals.

Similarly to the Golden Globe Awards, Grande, who portrayed Galinda in the hit film, was beaten out by Saldana, who won for her role of Rita Ora Castro in the Netflix title.

And while some praised her for her win, several Grande and Wicked fans did not.

“Emilia Perez is a F—ING JOKE. I’ve had enough of this bulls–t,” one said.

The anger came after both films were up for several of the same awards at the Golden Globes in January, where Emilia Perez took home awards for Saldana and Best Motion Picture Comedy or Musical, both over Wicked.

Both films are also up for several similar awards at the upcoming Academy Awards as well.

That includes another Ariana Grande versus Zoe Saldana matchup.
