Youd Never Guess Which Democrat Greatly

As we have reported, the D.C. Police Union confirmed that crime has dropped since President Donald Trump’s motion to surge more law enforcement brokers and the National Guard into Washington, D.C. 

Not only that, but there have also been a lot of arrests over the 20 days of the federal surge.  

Since the start of Trump’s crackdown, 1,170 arrests have been made, including eight gang members a White House official told the Daily Caller’s Reagan Reese on Wednesday. On Tuesday night time, there have been 84 arrests, 40 of which have been unlawful aliens.

Now, there’s a stunning voice that you would not count on who’s saying she tremendously appreciates Trump’s surge of officers: D.C.’s Democrat Mayor Muriel Bowser.

“We tremendously respect the surge of officers that improve what MPD has been in a position to do in this metropolis. The most vital factor that we’re highlighting today is the realm of crime that was most troubling for us in 2023,” Bowser said. “Now, we have driven it down over the last years … But for carjackings, the difference between this period, this 20-day period of this federal surge, and last year represents a 87% reduction in carjackings in Washington, D.C.”

“We know that when carjackings go down, when the use of gun goes down, when murder or theft go down, neighborhoods really feel safer and are safer,” she continued. “So this surge has been important to us for that reason.”

Not only that, but moreover, Bowser launched data that supported what the D.C. Police Union had already been saying about the discount in crime since the surge. In fact, the numbers are even better than the Union’s assertion that we reported 9 days in the past, with larger reductions in theft, violent crime, and total crime.

Good for Bowser for admitting actuality and giving credit where credit is due.

Of course, other Democrats have not gotten the memo. They’re still making an attempt to adhere to the “anything Trump does is wrong” strategy while sounding like they’re defending crime and/or performing like crime would not matter. As we reported, most people suppose it issues very a lot, and that’s why latest polling confirmed that most supported Trump’s actions against crime. 

Pro tip, Democrats? Saying that “crime has always been with us” is just not a successful strategy. Why would anybody be against help? It would not make a lot sense.

My colleague Bob Hoge picked up on this remark from a speaker at the DNC summer season assembly. “Don’t take the bait in talking about migrant crime or carjackings or the things that actually don’t matter to that many Americans,” Vera Institute’s Insha Rahman said.

Something tells me she did not ask Bowser about the significance of carjacking. And I feel most would differ on the significance of that, or unlawful alien crime. But this is how misplaced the DNC is at this level – they need to hear to Bowser on this.
