Bravo producer claims Real Housewives showrunners | TV Shows

A former Bravo producer is making major claims against the network, claiming that the network doesn’t particularly like when stars from its shows get sober.

Several Bravo celebrities have had run-ins with the law over issues with alcohol, especially in the Real Housewives franchise. Stars have been found guilty of DUIs, while others have divorced exes with alcohol problems.

Others have also made pointed jabs at their co-stars about things like rehab, proving that alcohol has been a big part of the franchise’s universe.

However, with some cast members experiencing issues, they have on occasion chosen to get sober.

According to producer Patrick McDonald though, the producers find such decisions to be a pain.

McDonald’s comments come as former Real Housewives of New York City star Leah McSweeney is suing Bravo and claiming they coerced and manipulated her into abandoning her sobriety, saying producers believed she would make better TV if she was drinking. A representative for Andy Cohen, who is also named in the lawsuit, denied the allegations.

It also comes after Vanity Fair published a story claiming that the cameras for Real Housewives often rush to put emphasis on filming drunk and incapacitated women in humiliating situations.

The Express contacted a representative for Bravo.
