Joy Behar gets kiss on the lips during The View | TV Shows

Comedian Sarah Silverman planted a big smooch on Joy Behar during the Thursday May 29 broadcast of The View.

The 54-year-old actor and stand-up comic was on the talk show discussing her latest Netflix special, PostMortem, which deals with the death of her father and stepmother, who passed away just 9 days apart in 2023. The Wreck-It Ralph star ended the segment by planting a kiss on the lips of 82-year-old host Joy, eliciting laughter from the other women at the table.

“It’s always fun to see you,” Joy told Sarah, who exclaimed, “I love seeing you!” before the kiss.

Before signing off, Whoopi Goldberg says, “You wanna do the goodbye?” and Joy says, “kiss me,” before Sarah leans over and kisses Joy on the lips.

The other hosts laughed, and the audience cheered as they pulled away. Sarah joked about kissing the other hosts as well, quipping, “we’ll all do it.”

At the beginning of the conversation, Sarah scoots closer to Joy, saying, “I feel too far from you,” as Joy says, “I know.”

She points out a small bowl on the table, and asks, “What’s this? Mints? You have a bowl of mints? Why do you have a bowl of mints?” To which Joy replied, “I like to have them. I need fresh breath.”

After showing a few clips from the special, the School of Rock star reminisced about her father, who was called Schleppy. He taught her how to swear at just 3 years old, and she and her siblings wore his clothing to his funeral, she recalled.

After she and Joy shared a smooch at the end of the segment, Sarah rubbed her lips together and jokingly said, “Mmm.”

Host Ana Navarro asked, “How’s her breath?” referring to the moment earlier in the segment when Sarah pointed out the mint bowl. The Emmy-winning comedian then took a couple of mints for herself as Whoopi signed them off.

The strangely intimate moment harked back to when actor Matthew McConaughey gave Joy a foot rub live on the air in 2023.
