The Malone household have been devastated as they introduced a beloved member of their family has died. The fan-favourite household, made up of mum Julie, dad Tom, and sons Tom Jr, and Shaun, have been a staple on Gogglebox since 2014.
In a heartbreaking new replace, the household revealed one of their canines, Bob, had handed away. Alongside a gallery of snaps of Bobby through the years, a devastated Julie penned: “Today we sad goodbye to our beautiful protective Bobby, he spent his last day doing what he loved , watching over the grandchildren playing in the garden. We are heartbroken. RIP our beautiful Big Bob.”
Tom Jr, who bid farewell to the Channel 4 programme in 2021, stated: “Good boy Bob… Rest easy big man.”
Shaun added his own tribute to their pet pooch, writing: “Today is the day we had to say goodbye to big bob, absolute great dog like a big cuddly bear.”
The household have been inundated with messages from their co-stars and followers, who despatched their condolences following the devastating loss.
“So sorry to hear about Bobby. Run free over the rainbow bridge,” Gogglebox star Ellie Warner commented as her sister Izzy posted: “Sending you all lots of love.”
Another fan shared: “I’m so sorry. It never gets easier. It’s so hard losing all the most beautiful little souls. They are children. You’ll meet again at the rainbow bridge.”
A fourth echoed: “So sorry to hear of Bobby’s passing. Sending lots of love and hugs.” This is not the first time the household have endured this form of heartbreak as they have been pressured to bid farewell to Dave, a rottweiler who commonly joined them on their front room couch, in 2023.
Back in February, Tom Sr sparked concern among his followers after posting a an image of himself clad in a robe and with his arm in a sling in hospital.
The image featured the Channel 4 star propped up in mattress, nursing what appeared to be a shoulder harm lined by a massive bandage, while he glanced at the affected space.
Despite the thriller surrounding his situation, Tom maintained his humour, captioning the post: “Woke up with a nappy as a dressing, was caught off guard when the nurse said she had to change my nappy! Grateful to our NHS, top notch care Thank you, home now!”.
