Another model new sequence of You Bet! is soon coming to ITV with host Stephen Mulhern at the helm. “He made sure to go and greet every single audience member and allowed time for selfies and a quick chat. It seemed like he really cared about his fans and, despite a busy filming schedule, he still made time for everyone who showed up.

“Will Best and Judi Love also did the similar, but poor Johnny was caught in a little rubber dinghy in the water!”

The fan went on to explain that St Helens star Johnny was roped into the show’s challenge, which saw him being winched in towards a large docked boat. The ship’s captain had to pull him in quicker than the competitor could climb around the boat. 

“There was one factor that did shock me,” the audience member admitted. “As somebody who is never on a TV set, I rapidly learnt that there are some components added in for dramatic impact. For instance, the presenters have been filmed giving a number of totally different reactions, as have been the viewers.

“We were asked to boo, to clap and to excitedly cheer but it was random and not while anything was actually happening. It seemed it was recorded so that editors could cut it and pop it in wherever they pleased. 

“Stephen and the visitors also cheered and shouted how close the problem was when nothing was even taking place. They have been screaming ‘come on you are able to do it,’ but no one was doing something! It left the viewers a bit perplexed but then I realised it was a little bit faux.

“They also redid some shots to get them reacting in different ways to whatever was happening. In a way it took the excitement out of it, but it was still a really good day and I can’t wait to see how things are changed once it’s actually on TV.”

Speaking about the sequence, host Stephen mentioned: “I’m completely thrilled that You Bet! is back – and this time we’re hitting the street! Each week I’ll be joined by a prime celeb panel, as our challengers take on some brilliantly bonkers and superb challenges. With the title of You Bet Champion on the line, it’s going to be unbelievable from the begin.”
