Jay Cutler faces lawsuit in DUI case — days after…

Jay Cutler is now going through a civil lawsuit stemming from his 2024 DUI visitors collision in Tennessee after the particular person he rear-ended took motion on Tuesday. 

Perry Lee — the particular person driving the car Cutler hit — filed a lawsuit against the previous Bears quarterback on Tuesday, just days after he was ordered to serve 4 days in jail, US Weekly reported

The lawsuit, which was seen by the outlet, asserted that Cutler had been “at fault for the collision” and “failed to use reasonable and due care in the operation of the vehicle he was driving to avoid injury to other persons using the roadway, including [Lee].”

The Tennessean reported that Lee is searching for damages “in excess of $25,000.”

Lee is being represented by Morgan & Morgan founder John Morgan and lawyer Sydney Pierce in the case. 

Cutler, 42, was allegedly intoxicated when he rear-ended Lee’s vehicle, an incident that Lee said has left him with medical payments along with bodily and mental struggling. 

“Our client is a veteran who was injured in a car crash due to the alleged negligence of another driver,” Lee’s attorneys said in a assertion to US Weekly. “His injuries from the crash cause him daily pain and have eroded his quality of life. We are seeking justice for him so he can get the care he needs and try to move forward with his life.”

News of the lawsuit comes after Cutler was ordered to serve jail time in the legal case associated to the incident, along with paying $350 in fines, taking DUI lessons, having his license revoked and serving a 12 months of unsupervised probation. 

Cutler allegedly rear-ended Lee’s vehicle and provided him $2,000 not to call the police.

He cut a plea deal with prosecutors last week on one rely of misdemeanor DUI. 

Police discovered weapons in his car when they searched at the scene, but the weapons possession charge was dismissed as half of the deal. 

Cutler will report to jail on Sept. 29 to serve his sentence.
