Recently on Emmerdale, Aaron Dingle (performed by Danny Miller) was finally informed about his husband John Sugden’s (Oliver Farnworth) evil crimes as the killer’s brother Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) headed into the woods to defend his ex-lover and observe down lacking Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb). However, when Robert caught up with them, John jumped off a cliff, taking Aaron with him during an explosive episode.
Robert was later arrested on suspicion of tried murder after John regained consciousness in the hospital and threw his brother under the bus. The following questions now stay. Is John going to get away with his latest misdemeanour? Will an harmless Robert get sentenced for a crime he didn’t commit? And is Mackenzie truly lifeless?
Speaking solely to Express.co.uk at the National Television Awards, Oliver said he watches the show back to analyse himself as an actor.
He explained: “I’ve been through the motions of those scenes with whoever I’m working with, and I just wait for the edit to see what’s been done with it, and this particular block of episodes is like watching a movie in a way.”
When requested how he unwinds after weeks of filming tense scenes, just like the latest ones of drugging Aaron and torturing Mack, the star said: “I’ve actually had a couple of weeks in Spain. When [I’m working], they are really long days—but that’s what you sign up for. It’s the challenge you sign up for.”
“When you’re gifted with these kinds of scripts and the storyline that we’ve been gifted with, all you want to do is do them justice.” He famous how his co-stars, Danny and Lawrence, have been sharing the dramatic storyline with him as they’ve pushed their characters to extremes.
So what’s in store for Emmerdale‘s largest villain, John? Oliver teased: “We know he’s in hospital right now – I believe.
“There’s always more to come, particularly with Emmerdale. There’s always going to be more. Never say never!”
Does this mean more murders are going to happen in the village or more drama for John, Aaron and Robert in scenes yet to air?
