The new Golden Bachelor’s ex-wife has spoken out about his actuality TV show debut.

NFL legend Mel Owens, 66, is set to lead the second season of the hit relationship show, which can return on Wednesday Sept. 24.

Just hours before the premiere hits ABC, his ex-wife Fabiana Pimentel, who hit him with a $980,000 divorce invoice and firm warning, has shared what she thinks about his upcoming escapade with 23 girls.

Fabiana saved her response short but not so candy while talking to the Daily Mail about his lead function on The Golden Bachelor.

She said, “Good luck. I mean, it’s going to be bad. But anyway, I don’t want to be involved in this.”

Mel met Fabiana after he left the Los Angeles Rams in 1989. The two tied the knot in May 2002 and welcomed two sons, Lucas and Andre, during their marriage of virtually 20 years.

In February 2020, Fabiana filed for divorce citing irreconcilable variations as the trigger of their break up.

After a practically five-year legal battle, their separation was finalized in December 2024 and Mel was ordered by the court to pay virtually $1 million to cowl unpaid baby and spousal assist, property division and attorney charges.

Despite a tough, and pricey, expertise with love, Mel is prepared to get back on the market. However, he has a guidelines of necessities for the stunning woman that will obtain his ultimate rose.

While showing on MGoBlue Podcasts With Jon Jansen, he admitted to telling the producers his “preferences” have been girls between “45 to 60.”

He told the crew, “If they’re 60 or over, I’m cutting them.”

Mel added, “This is not The Silver Bachelor, this is The Golden Bachelor.”

Along with the age standards, the retired soccer participant said, “They’ve got to be fit, because I stay in shape and workout and stuff. And I told them to try to stay away from the artificial hips and the wigs.”

After his feedback brought on immense backlash, he backtracked and tried to clarify himself to Glamour.

He said, “I’m thinking, to me, the age range was 45 to 60. That’s my age range. I’m thinking that’s the gold years for me. My reference, again, was when I was dating at 39, 40. I hadn’t dated in 26 years, so I had no clue. And that’s why I said that comment. I didn’t know.”

Mel not only addressed the viewers’ issues but also those of the contestants competing for his coronary heart.

“When I first walked in, I addressed it,” he recalled. “I apologized to them. I said, ‘It was unfair, insensitive. I want to earn it back. Just give me the chance.’”

The Golden Bachelor airs Wednesdays on ABC at 8pm EST.
