Amanda Balionis says horror NFL fear gave her | Golf News

Amanda Balionis, the CBS sports activities reporter, lately shared that she woke up in a cold sweat after having a nightmare about an NFL sport.

Since becoming a member of CBS in 2017, Balionis, who lately spoke out about the abuse Rory McIlroy suffered at the Ryder Cup, has lined quite a few high-profile soccer video games and golf occasions. Despite her in depth expertise in the golf world, she admitted to having “recurring nightmares about work.”

When requested if she’s had these goals before, the sideline reporter posted a picture of herself having fun with a cup of espresso with the caption: “A tradition unlike any other: every time I have a weekend off, I have a horrific work nightmare.”

Discussing her latest evening terror, Balionis said: “This one? I was covering an NFL game and completely forgot to prepare for one of the teams. Like knew 0 about them. Woke up in a full sweat. Happy Monday!”

After graduating from Hofstra University in 2008, Balionis started her profession reporting on high college sports activities for Verizon Fios Channel 1 and MSG Networks.

In 2011, she transitioned to the PGA Tour, where she served as an in-house reporter and persona creating digital content for the group’s web site.

Balionis then joined Callaway Golf as a digital reporter in 2016 before shifting to CBS the next 12 months. In 2018, CBS welcomed her as a full-time member of their workforce.

In a dialog with Golf’s Jessica Marksbury prior to Super Bowl LIII, Balionis revealed the stark contrasts between reporting on the 2 sports activities she covers. Golf is simple to put together for, but Balionis insisted that soccer matches are a lot more unpredictable.

“It could not be any more different,” she said. “I mean, even just down to the logistics of golf, I’m at the same spot or two spots the entire week. And you have time to prepare, do the research, get your questions ready. It’s a very organized process.

“With soccer, it isn’t so organized. On any given play a participant can go down and be injured. At any given time one thing just loopy can occur, and you are continually having to pivot.

“I would say golf, for the most part, you know what’s going to happen, what’s coming,” Balionis added.

“And really the only time you have to pivot is when maybe a player gives you an answer that you weren’t expecting, and you need to build off that answer.

“But in soccer, it appears like, ‘All proper. I’m going to put together and get all the data I can probably get,’ but that may all be thrown out the window at any given time, relying on what occurs the minute we step on the sector. So it is different, but they’re both so a lot enjoyable.”
