John Stamos fires back when asked if he would…
Have mercy!
John Stamos has set the file straight relating to whether or not he would go away his spouse, Caitlin McHugh, for Lori Loughlin amid the guy “Full House” alum’s separation from Mossimo Giannulli.
The shocking incident unfolded during the episode of Ben Soffer and Josh Peck’s “Good Guys” podcast launched Monday, shortly after Stamos opened up about his and Loughlin’s rumored romantic historical past.

“A lot of people think, ‘Oh, you guys were romantic,’ or whatever,” the actor, 62, started. “You know, I happened to say she was the one that got away in something – I think it was before I met Caitlin – and, you know, it was an interesting thing.”
“I wrote about in the book, there was a very small window of the two of us being single at the same time,” he continued relating to his 2023 memoir, “If You Would Have Told Me.”
Despite starring together as the married couple Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky in “Full House” and again more lately in “Fuller House,” Stamos made it clear that the pair had been never romantically concerned.

“There was a moment where I had the choice, I think, and I was more into the rebellious,” he explained while evaluating Loughlin, 61, to ex-wife Rebecca Romijn. “Lori was so sweet, and I loved working with her, but she was too nice for me.”
As for Loughlin’s latest separation from Giannulli after practically 28 years of marriage, Stamos said that he and McHugh have been there to help the “When Calls the Heart” actress.
“It’s not a clear thing all the time with something like this,” he shared. “She lives in my neighborhood, Lori, and so, you know, I was over there a lot and she came to our house a couple times and Caitlin’s been good about it.”

But the podcast took a flip for the more severe after Soffer and Peck joked that “the biggest question” followers submitted before the episode began was whether or not Stamos would “ever leave your wife for” Loughlin.
“No f–king way!” Stamos fired back. “I’m not Mormon. Do you do that with your wife? Are you a swinger?”
However, the “ER” alum prompt that he and Loughlin could have shared one romantic second during their in any other case “always platonic” relationship.
Stamos during an episode of the “Good Guys” podcast launched October 20, 2025.
The “Full House” star opened up about his and Loughlin’s rumored romantic historical past.
“I always thought that we made out on some ride at Disneyland – I’ve known her since the early ’80s,” Stamos said relating to a time when the pair had been both single. “I remembered, I think she said it didn’t happen.”
“So, I don’t know if it was something I made up in my mind,” he added. “You know, some kind of fantasy.”
Stamos went on to marry Romijn, 52, in 1998 before they divorced in 2005. He then married McHugh, 39, in 2018. The couple welcomed their son, Billy, 7, in 2018.

Loughlin, meanwhile, was married to movie exec Michael Burns from 1980 to 1996. She was then with Giannulli from 1997 until their separation earlier this month. The pair share two daughters: Olivia Jade, 26, and Isabella Rose, 27.
Elsewhere during the podcast, Stamos lamented his former co-star’s break up from the well-known fashion designer after nearly 28 years of marriage.
“I’m just heartbroken for her right now,” he shared. “She’s just devastated. For a girl who has lived her life really well, a good person, a good mother, a good wife – I know all this for a fact – to be thrown into now this separation and exploding, blowing up her family this way.”

“I just hate to see her go through this,” he added. “I really do.”
As for Giannulli, Stamos called him a “terrible narcissist” and an “a–hole” who was to blame for the estranged couple’s 2019 faculty admissions bribery scandal that left them both in federal prison for months.
“She didn’t deserve to be dragged through that,” Stamos charged. “I know for a fact it was all him.”
