On the morning after the season two finale of The Golden Bachelor, this season’s lead, Mel Owens, made an look on Good Morning America alongside last rose winner Peg Munson — but the previous NFL star didn’t make it all the best way clear what his intentions had been for the future.
The season finale noticed Owens reward Munson a promise ring with her rose to declare his emotions for the finalist, but he made it clear that the ring didn’t symbolize an official engagement, and he refused to get down on one knee.

“You know, I love being married,” Owens explained. “But, I gotta be engaged first before I get married. And we’ve spoken about that, that comes first. And then, you know, perhaps marriage afterwards.”
Owen’s use of the phrase maybe raised purple flags for followers who had been already suspicious about the truth star, who made it clear he wasn’t prepared to be engaged to runner-up Cindy Cullers during their fantasy suite date.
“Congrats Mel and Peg. He wasn’t ready to commit in the manner of the timetable the other lady wanted. Good for him for waiting for Peg and finding what he was looking for in order to commit to what aligned with his frame of integrity,” another said.
