Actor Varun Dhawan has come under fire from Congress MP Abhishek Singhvi over a promotional video for the upcoming movie Border 2, in which Dhawan seems in a Border Security Force (BSF) uniform. Singhvi publicly criticised the clip, saying it was disrespectful to the boys and ladies who put on the uniform and guard the nation. In a social media message accompanying a video clip from the movie’s promotions, Singhvi wrote: “BSF uniform is not a prop.” He criticised what he described as an insensitive portrayal, saying such depictions can demean those who serve in uniform.
The video in query reveals Dhawan carrying a camouflage BSF shirt and cap in a light-hearted promotional second meant to have interaction audiences forward of Border 2’s release on January 23, 2026. No official response from Dhawan or the movie’s group had been issued at the time of publication.
