The Dyers’ Caravan Park delivered a poignant scene during Tuesday’s opening instalment as Danny Dyer had a heartfelt dialog with a customer.
The Sky programme follows Danny, 48, who is passionate about caravan parks, as he makes an attempt to rescue the standard British seaside break by reworking Priory Hill in Leysdown, Kent, working alongside his daughter Dani Dyer.
In Tuesday’s instalment, Danny engages with a number of guests to uncover methods to improve the location and improve its facilities.
Speaking with Tony, whom he labels one of the park’s more “vocal characters”, the holidaymaker reveals his devastating cancer diagnosis and expresses how important Priory Hill is to him.
Danny enquires: “How long have you been here for, then, Tony?” to which Tony discloses he is been visiting since 1960, stating: “I came down here in 1960 with our family and I’ve never wanted to leave, Dan.”

The customer then shares emotionally: “I mean, I’m 68, I’ve had a good run. If I get two more years down here, I’ll be over the moon. I’ve had my life and I’ve got cancer now, so it is what it is.
“I’ve bought cancer of the liver, non-alcoholic, it was through smoking and my lifestyle. It cannot be cured, it’s what it’s.”
Danny becomes visibly distressed for Tony as he responds: “I’m sorry to hear about that Tony, this f**king cancer factor, it impacts so many people and I’ve misplaced a couple of people to it.
“It frightens the life out of me. I’m still smoking away, me and all, I know I’ve got to give it up but…” Tony swiftly interjects, saying: “I hope to God you give up” with Danny responding: “I know, mate, I know mate.”

Tony carries on: “Look at your grandkids and say: ‘You know what, I want to see you grow up.’ You’ve only got one shot at this..”
Danny replies: “No, I know mate, you don’t get a second go, do you?” with Tony retorting: “You don’t get a second go. So do yourself a favour and knock it on the head.”
Danny then tells Tony: “I appreciate that” with Tony insisting: “I mean it, son, I really do. That’s from my heart. You take it easy, Dan” to which Danny labels him a “legend”.
In a VT, Danny reveals after his dialog with Tony, he needs to improve the location so Tony can take pleasure in his remaining days at the caravan park.
The Dyers’ Caravan Park airs on Tuesdays on Sky and NOW.
