Brilliant series from Death in Paradise boss drops | UK News
The model new teaser guarantees more puzzling murders for newbie sleuths Judith Potts (Samantha Bond), Suzie Harris (Jo Martin) and Becks Starling (Cara Horgan).
The crime preventing trio will now help Detective Inspector Tanika Malik (Natalie Dew) in a more official capability having been upgraded last season to “an established part” of her investigations.
The synopsis for the new show, created by Death in Paradise’s Robert Thorogood, reads: “Now an established part of newly promoted DI Tanika Malik’s crime solving team, retired archaeologist Judith Potts, dog walker Suzie Harris and vicar’s wife Becks Starling are back and bringing their unconventional methods to a string of high-profile murders.
“But it soon turns into clear to the newbie sleuths that this time their investigations could hit nearer to home than ever before.
“From the sudden death of the kindest man in Marlow, the town’s beloved Mayor, to a celebrity chef found dead at the launch of his cookbook with half the town in attendance, the team will be working under the watchful eye of the Marlow community.
“They’ll also be called to an eerie manor home in the center of nowhere where they will face a case intrinsically linked to Becks’ past that might threaten the future of their roles as civilian advisors. Judith, Suzie and Becks may have to pull nearer together than ever to catch these killers.”
Now in its third season, the show is set to build on its success by introducing “phenomenal” twists into its storylines.
Hugh Quarshie (Professor Darius Gifford), Holli Dempsey (DC Alice Hackett), Phill Langhorne (DC Brendan Perry) and Tijan Sarr (DC Jason Kennedy) are all returning to the show.
The new series will also welcome guest stars including Peter Davison (Doctor Who), Jason Merrells (Waterloo Road), Jacqueline Boatswain (After the Flood), Tony Gardner, Ranjit Krishnamma, Harry Enfield and Jason Forbes and more.
The first two seasons proved hugely popular with fans, with one viewer on X, formerly Twitter, describing it as a “gratifying cosy crime drama”.
“Marlow illegal killing Club is so good it sticks with you,” remarked someone else, whilst another praised it as “sensible” viewing. “Loved it and the selection of actors is excellent,” one viewer gushed. Another fan declared: “Loved the books, cherished the show.”
The Marlow illegal killing Club season 3 will debut on Wednesday 18 March on U and U&Drama
