Stephen Colbert has brutally torn into Donald Trump by evaluating him to Nazi chief Adolf Hitler in a scathing monologue.

On the April 13 version of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the CBS host called out Donald Trump for his current assault on Pope Leo XIV.

In his monologue, he delved into Trump’s accusation that the American-born pontiff is “weak on crime,” as Colbert said, “Some embarrassing set backs for for Trump and his workforce, but the president took it all in stride, and did the mature factor, and attacked the Pope.”

“Last night, he posted, ‘Pope Leo is weak on crime,'” Colbert added, before quipping, “Yeah man, he’s the Pope. He visits people in jail! It would be cool, though, if the Pope did fight crime, then we could watch ‘unlawful killing, She Pope.'”

Colbert then explained to the viewers that Trump’s Truth Social rant was “a long, unhinged post,” as people in the group began to boo the president.

As the 61-year-old identified the “weird moment” when the president said, “Leo does not sit well with me,” he joked, “Nothing sits well with you. All your sitting looks like clinical depression on a toilet.”

After a roar of laughter erupted from his viewers, Colbert went on to examine Trump to Hitler and Mussolini, as he said, “This is unprecedented. According to one Italian religious historian, ‘Not even Hitler or Mussolini attacked the Pope so directly and publicly.’ It’s never great when someone says you should really be more discreet and respectuful. You know, like Hitler.”

Following the show’s brodacast, Colbert’s workforce shared a clip of the monologue on Instagram with the caption, “Trump cyberbullying the pope just unlocked a new circle of Hell.”

Viewers shortly responded to Colbert’s monologue, as one particular person commented on Instagram, “I hope that this leads to Pope Leo being Stephen’s final guest…Zoom from Vatican City works.”

A second particular person then added, “Stephen, what will we do without you?,” while a third famous, “Colbert is a treasure!!” and a fourth concluded, “Any American Catholic who sides with Trump over our Pope is no longer a Catholic and I hope they know that.”

This comes as Donald Trump tried to defend himself for a current AI image he shared on Truth Social depicting him as Jesus Christ.

Trump claimed he thought the image, which confirmed him in a gown therapeutic the sick, conveyed him as a doctor or a Red Cross employee, not the son of God, telling the media, “I did post it, and I thought it was me as a doctor. It’s supposed to be me as a doctor making people better. And I do make people better. I make people a lot better.”

He then blamed the “fake news” networks for misinterpreting the image, stating, “Only the fake news could come up with that one [the Jesus comparison].”
