Massive Cleanup in Seattle for FIFA, Millions of

We’ve chronicled the downfall of many of our major cities — most run by Democrats — as homelessness, crime, high taxes, and grime have whittled away the standard of life to the purpose where many residents are ditching locations like Los Angeles. (See Ward Clark’s glorious collection, appropriately titled, The Downfall of America’s Cities.)

Seattle, it might be argued, is the poster little one for the tragedy that has befallen our beleaguered metropolises. Dangerous, soiled (and wet), it often appears to be like prefer it might be the set for a Blade Runner film. If you’re a resident of the Emerald City, they don’t care about you, but if you’re a overseas customer and/or you’re bringing tv cameras, all of a sudden you’re a VIP.

And authorities aren’t about to let the remaining of the world see the mess they’ve made, so they’re frantically cleansing up the cr*p before the FIFA World Cup (soccer, for those who aren’t acquainted) comes to city this summer time.

It would seem to be a reasonably gross effort:

Seattle is ramping up cleanup efforts as it prepares to welcome tens of 1000’s of guests for the FIFA World Cup this summer time, with a new report highlighting thousands and thousands of kilos of waste eliminated, a whole lot of 1000’s of sharps collected, and growing group participation across neighborhoods.

Wait, did not they just do this a 12 months in the past? Yup:

In 2025, Seattle Clean City and its companions collected and eliminated 5.3 million kilos of waste from the right-of-way, an quantity the report compares to “the weight of about 530 orca whales.”

Crews and companions also collected and disposed of 661,105 sharps, i.e., needles.

After this week’s MEGA sweep in a number of Beacon Hill parks, all the homeless drug addicts are back. The current plan will not be working.

We’ve seen this film before, a number of instances in fact. In San Francisco, the town recognized for poop maps, they did a fast makeover in 2023 for Chinese President Xi Jinping’s tête-à-tête with Joe Biden. As our Sister Toldjah reported, CA Gov. Gavin Newsom made a reasonably startling admission:

Their soft-on-crime insurance policies, their failed homelessness efforts, and their tolerance for garbage-strewn streets come proper back once the cameras are off, and it’s the residents who pay the price.
