At just 53 years outdated, Gregg Foreman was found dead in his Los Angeles home by first responders on Tuesday, April 21. The musician, who rose to stardom as the frontman for the band The Delta 72, was pronounced dead at the scene by firefighters. Although a trigger of death has yet to be decided, Gregg’s sister Abbe paid a transferring tribute on Instagram and penned: “He was a light in this world, and I truly hope everyone will remember him as Gregg the funny guy who lit up a room and the kind, true soul he was. “He was every little thing to me, and phrases will never describe what and who he actually was inside.

She continued: “He was an amazing human and I hope you all know that. I love you, my favourite human, my brother and most importantly, my heart. I love you so much, Gregg. I am heartbroken, but I know you will always be with me. My sweet brother.” The late DJ was shortly inundated with touching messages from followers, as one wrote: “You literally made every band you played in better. We are all going to miss you tons. xo.”

A second added: “Rest in peace. I’ll never forget the first time I heard you DJ and freaked out on everything you were playing.”

“Brokenhearted to read that you are gone. Such a brilliant musician, kind heart, cool person. I will miss you terribly,” echoed a third.

Another devastated fan wrote: “Sad, sad news. I’ve really enjoyed Greg’s insights and music since discovering his work online. Seemed like a genuine and generous guy. My condolences to family and friends. Love your work, Mr Pharmacist. Gone too soon.”

As a fifth recalled: “I saw you in the late 90’s with The Delta 72 and it blew my teenage mind. Rest easy, Mr. Pharmacist.”

The proficient multi-instrumentalist was contemporary off a run of exhibits with Cat Power, including a stop at New York City’s Webster Hall in March, and lately posted to Instagram that his new band was mixing and recording their first EP.

In a 2000 interview with Ink 19, Gregg revealed that seeing the film Purple Rain impressed him to choose up the guitar, and that his music style was impressed by his mother and father, his mother, a former Motown intern who cherished soul and his dad, who favoured nation rock.

Throughout his profession, the musician performed with a quantity of artists, including The Gossip, Beth Ditto, Lucinda Williams, Jesse Malin, Linda Perry and more.

With The Delta 72, he launched three studio albums between 1994 and 2001.
