Secretary of State Marco Rubio got here under fire from Sunny Hostin during a heated dialogue about his political future on The View.

Hostin accused Rubio of remaining silent while minority communities face discrimination under the Trump administration, arguing that his actions contradict his own immigrant household background.

The dialog started after co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin predicted Rubio might change into the Republican Party’s main presidential contender in 2028. It comes as TV host Megyn Kelly says she doesn’t ‘trust a phrase’ Donald Trump says about Iran.

“The odds-on favorite for the Republican nominee for 2028 as of today are absolutely Marco Rubio,” declared Alyssa Farah Griffin.

Hostin immediately dismissed the thought, saying Rubio would battle to distance himself from President Trump’s administration.

“Well then, the Republicans are going to lose because I do not think that Marco Rubio can remove the stench of the Trump administration from his very being!” Hostin exclaimed to the viewers applause.

She then turned to Rubio’s Cuban heritage, criticizing him for what she described as his complicity in insurance policies affecting Latino and Black communities.

“He is the son of immigrants from Cuba that came here in 1956. How dare he stand by complicitly and allow Latinos to be rounded up, allow American citizens to be shot in the face and shot in the chest and shot in the back.

How dare he allow the voting — stand by idly — while the Voting Rights Act is gutted, and disenfranchising African American voting.”

She continued, “Something that African Americans, who built this joint for free, who built this country for free, be disenfranchised of their vote. And at the moment as the Secretary of State, immigrants from travel ban countries are currently in limbo.”

Hostin also condemned expanded travel restrictions introduced under the administration, arguing that many of the targeted nations are predominantly Black and Brown countries.

“The Trump administration has expanded journey restrictions to embrace 39 international locations dealing with full or partial bans. And a lot, Black and Brown international locations.”

“And what about Haiti? You suppose a Haitian ought to — is allowed to be right here with their short-term standing just thrown away and going back to a nation that is in full political turmoil when his very dad and mom left political turmoil and discovered asylum right here? Disgusting!”

Co-host Ana Navarro later interrupted to clarify that Rubio’s parents left Cuba before the Cuban Revolution rather than fleeing political unrest.

“Can I inform you one thing? They didn’t depart political turmoil. They left, as you talked about, in 1956. So, they left before the Cuban Revolution. They left because they have been poor. They left like so many people depart Mexico, depart some other international locations, because they have been trying for better — for financial alternatives.”

Hostin replied that the explanation reflected “Even worse! Even worse then on Marco Rubio,” before Navarro brought up another detail involving Rubio’s grandfather.

“And his grandfather at one level had a deportation order. His grandfather, whom he adored, had a deportation order against him. Would have been deported under Trump,” Navarro added.
