U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday he was “an hour away” from striking Iran before he was pressured to back down.
Both developments seem to have been elements that Trump thought of when deciding to halt additional assaults and permit the delicate ceasefire to maintain.
Earlier in the day, Tehran said a new peace proposal was delivered to Washington through Islamabad that centered around ending the conflict.
The proposal didn’t, however, acknowledge “any details regarding nuclear matters,” according to Iranian state media.
Iran’s semi-official Tasnim state news company reported Monday that Washington agreed to a distinctive stipulation of Tehran’s latest proposal to waive sanctions on Iranian crude oil and vitality exports during the negotiation period.
A source educated about negotiations later told Tasnim that “fundamental differences remain, stemming from American excessive demands and lack of realism” despite the latest “adjustments.” The source doubled down on Iran’s proper to enrich uranium, while noting that Iran maintains that it doesn’t intend to create a nuclear weapon.
“The Americans must understand that Iran will never accept ending the war in exchange for nuclear commitments,” the source told Tasnim.
Trump, however, famous in his late Monday afternoon announcement post about pausing his plans to relaunch army operations that he wouldn’t settle for a deal without nuclear negotiations. He wrote, “This Deal will include, importantly, NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS FOR IRAN!”.
Trump issued a number of posts from Sunday through Monday where he ramped up strain on Tehran to strike a deal before making his late afternoon announcement about pausing his plans to relaunch army operations.
Among them was a weird long-winded post fantasizing about the Iranian army’s humiliating give up, while accusing Democrats and the media of falsely portraying the ability dynamics of the conflict.

The Dumacrats and Media have totally lost their way. They have gone absolutely CRAZY!!! President DJT,” Trump wrote Monday on Truth Social.
Over the weekend, he shared a number of AI-generated pictures showing to threaten additional assaults on Iranian targets.
He also issued a post Sunday warning Iran that “the Clock is Ticking, and they better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!”.
