Mike Johnson branded delusional by Fox News | TV Shows

Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Mike Johnson boasted about the midterm elections amid the new peace deal with Iran.

During the Fox News broadcast of Fox & Friends Weekend on May 24, Speaker Johnson, 54, spoke with the hosts from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the Indianapolis 500. The group initially spoke about President Donald Trump, 79, who announced on Truth Social a day earlier that a potential settlement had been “largely negotiated” with Iran. Although he didn’t disclose a lot about the deal, Trump talked about that the Strait of Hormuz, the first route for oil, can be reopened.

Johnson believed the peace deal would have a constructive affect on the midterm elections in November. This comes as Trump’s advisor uncovered the behind-the-scenes stress between the president and Fox News commentator Sean Hannity, 64.

Host Rachel Campos-Duffy requested him, “Let’s just talk politics here. What does this mean for you and the midterms? I know this consumes your thoughts a lot.”

Johnson replied, “Yeah, it’s a big thing. Obviously, we’ve done a lot of work. The Big Beautiful Bill. The Working Class Tax Cut. All of our legislation has been geard toward the cost of living.

“And then the Iran skirmish occurred,” he continued before adding, “So when this settles out, we are able to come back down to Earth. It means your grocery costs come back down again. The transport prices and all the remainder. It will probably be a big issue.”

“The kitchen desk points are going to resolve the midterms,” he bragged.

Viewers took to social media to slam Johnson’s comments, arguing that the Iran war has already affected the midterms.

One person said, “He is as delusional as that orange man!”

Another particular person added, “Kitchen desk? Many Americans are working a number of jobs to afford groceries and fuel, electrical energy…who has time to sit around the kitchen desk! They will exit and VOTE the GOP out in between jobs!”

A 3rd wrote, “Can’t get more tone deaf than this unaware piece of crap, but sure Mikey, the purple wave is coming. The value of every part is increased because of ‘Trump’s War.’ Mike Johnson will probably be changed proper after the next election because his social gathering will no longer be in energy.”

Despite the criticism, the speaker did have a supporter who agreed with him and shared, “The GOP has already received the November election. Thank you, Mr. President.

On May 23, Trump took to Truth Social to announce, “An Agreement has been largely negotiated, subject to finalization between the United States of America, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the various other Countries, as listed.

“Separately, I had a call with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu of Israel, which, likewise, went very properly. Final elements and particulars of the Deal are at present being mentioned and will probably be announced shortly. In addition to many other components of the Agreement, the Strait of Hormuz will probably be opened,” he concluded.
