Mark Zuckerberg got here under fire after his $300 million superyacht made a splashy entrance in a Seattle harbor – proper as Meta confirmed about 1,400 layoffs in its local workplace.
The 390-foot vessel, called “Launchpad,” drew a spherical of boos and heckles when it floated into Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood on Tuesday – with one indignant bystander screaming that the billionaire ought to “pay some f–king taxes,” GeekWire reported.
Zuckerberg himself didn’t seem to be on board the vessel.

Meta slashed a complete of 1,395 jobs in King County, Wash., according to a local WARN discover filed Tuesday.
“Just another Tech Bro who can’t read the room,” one X person wrote.

The roles had been cut as half of a companywide massacre that noticed Zuckerberg trim the company’s workforce by 8,000 jobs – with another 7,000 employees reassigned to AI-centric positions.
In Washington, about 700 staff had been positioned at Meta’s places of work in Bellevue; 206 had been based in Redmond; practically 300 had been based in Seattle and 231 had been labeled as distant.
Meanwhile, a local dock worker told GeekWire that Zuckerberg’s superyacht “is the biggest one I’ve had in 14 years.”
Zuckerberg has been publicly linked to the “Launchpad” since at least 2024, though he has not confirmed being the proprietor.

The yacht was constructed by Dutch firm Feadship, with exterior design by Espen Øino International and inside design by France-based Zuretti Interior Design, according to SuperYachtTimes.
Featuring a metal hull and an aluminum superstructure, the get together boat has 4 engines and can hit a top pace of 24 knots, the equal of about 28 mph.
