The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards happened in Los Angeles on Oct. 30 and some of our favs took home trophies while others labored the purple carpet!
It’s your lady! Keke Palmer took home the Emmy for her show “Glam Through The Ages” which gained Outstanding Daytime Short Form Program, marking the third for the budding leisure mogul. Everyone’s favourite child-free and fabulous actress turned actuality host, Tracee Ellis Ross, also gained big, taking home the Outstanding Travel and Adventure Program Emmy for her show “Solo Traveling with Tracee Ellis Ross.” She was beforehand nominated 5 other instances for her position as Bow on ABC’s blackish but never took home the award. Ain’t that one thing?
It was even sweeter as Tracee also celebrated her birthday on Oct. 30, making the Emmy a one-of-a-kind reward. The first season of her show noticed the actress and daughter of icon Diana Ross flying off to stunning areas while displaying girls that they’ll benefit from the lives they’ve created for themselves without ready on a companion to do it with. Many girls noticed themselves mirrored back to them through the collection and it’s already been renewed for a second season. Go, Tracee!
Another magical second got here when Beyond The Gates actress and veteran entertainer, Tamara Tunie, took home her first Emmy win almost 40 years since she first made her daytime appearing debut. She thanked her mom, who is 92 years outdated, for her assist throughout her profession which incorporates being the first Black girl to painting a medical examiner on the long-running show Law & Order: SVU.
She joins uncommon air as one of the few Black girls to take home the trophy for Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series. Beyond The Gates marks her return to daytime TV as she beforehand appeared on As The World Turns as attorney Jessica Griffin.
Tunie’s Beyond The Gates co-star Ambyr Michelle also took home a major award for Emerging Talent as Eva, the new lady on the block stirring up scrumptious drama in Fairmont Crest with bombshell secrets and techniques.
