White House officers reportedly had a meltdown following the release of the first excerpt of New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan’s upcoming guide, “Regime Change.”

The excerpt, which was printed in The New York Times under the headline “Inside the White House Freakout Over the Epstein Files,” particulars how the president’s top advisers gathered in the Situation Room to focus on how they might deal with the scandal of the release of the investigative supplies for late intercourse offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The accounts in the guide, titled “Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump,” are so detailed and particular that they immediately raised eyebrows among White House officers, who are now scrambling to decide whether or not a recording of the conversations in the scenario room was made and then leaked to reporters.

Axios provides that White House officers didn’t dispute what was written in the guide about the conferences, including one occasion in which Secretary of State Marco Rubio said about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s regime-change choices for Iran: “In other words, it’s b——t.”

The White House didn’t immediately remark on the just lately printed excerpt.

Trump advisers met at the Situation Room without him

According to Haberman and Swan’s guide, which is set to be launched on June 23, Trump’s senior advisers gathered in the Situation Room to focus on the Epstein information disaster. Days earlier, the Justice Department had launched a memo saying its investigation discovered no “client list” of highly effective males who benefited from Epstein’s intercourse trafficking scheme.

Among the attendees at the assembly have been Vice President JD Vance, White House chief of workers Susie Wiles, White House counsel David Warrington, press secretary Karoline Leavitt, and more. Vance was reportedly panicked as he took his seat at the pinnacle of the desk, with some senior officers having the impression that he “bought into the darkest theories about Epstein and a cabal of predators hidden within the country’s ruling class.”

Wiles, however, dismissed Vance’s issues, telling other members of the administration that the vice president is a well-known conspiracy theorist.

Adding to the administration’s issues was President Trump’s rhetoric, in which he often condemned Republicans for caring about the issue, even though he had promised during the 2024 presidential marketing campaign to release supplies associated to the investigation.
