Lost in all the joy over the close of the Supreme Court’s 2025 time period is the fact that today (Tuesday) is also major election day in Colorado. There aren’t fairly so many hotly contested races in the Centennial State, but there are a handful value preserving an eye on.

Here’s what to look for this night:

• In the Governor’s race — Sen. Michael Bennet faces off against state Attorney General Phil Weiser for the Democrats to succeed the time period-restricted Jared Polis. (The Republicans have three candidates in the combo: Barb Kirkmeyer, Scott Bottoms, and Victor Marx.)
• For the U.S. Senate — Sen. John Hickenlooper is angling for a second time period, but faces a problem from progressive state Sen. Julie Gonzales on the Democrat aspect. Republican Mark Baisley is working unopposed.
• For the U.S. House — The big battles shall be in CD-1 and CD-8. CD-1 options incumbent Rep. Diana DeGette making an attempt to stave off a problem from the left in Melat Kiros. (Speculation is that the Democrat Socialist vitality from New York will waft westward and increase Kiros.) In the eighth District, incumbent Rep. Gabe Evans is working unopposed on the Republican aspect, while Democrats state Rep. Manny Rutinel and former state Rep. Shannon Bird duke it out to see who’ll take on Evans in November.
