England’s celebration following a wild win over Mexico in the Round of 16 was dampened after midfielder Jordan Henderson was injured in weird fashion, hurting his wrist after the staff celebrated with English followers in Mexico on Sunday evening.
The Three Lions had been celebrating with their supporters while “Wonderwall” by Oasis performed over the Estadio Azteca sound system when Henderson went to leap over a dasher board and fell laborious onto the pitch.
A fellow England teammate noticed and shortly waved over for the medical workers to come examine on Henderson.
England supervisor Thomas Tuchel confirmed that Henderson had been injured and that he damage his wrist in the odd incident.
“He’s at the moment in the hospital, so it’s quite a serious injury,” Tuchel said. “It just doesn’t fit to the evening that Jordan is now not with us. I don’t know the procedure [that’s] going on.”
Tuchel added that he had been fulfilling his media obligations when the staff’s docs had informed him that Henderson had been transported to a local hospital.
The England supervisor described his feelings as “very mixed” over his delight in his staff’s efficiency coupled with being “sad” over the Henderson injury.

The incident had been famous on the Fox broadcast when Harry Kane, who scored England’s third aim of the evening, spoke with the American broadcaster.
Kane said Henderson had “just fell over there,” but appeared more optimistic about his condition before Tuchel held his postmatch press convention.
It’s unclear how long Henderson could also be sidelined, particularly with the best way that Tuchel described the injury.

He has only appeared in one match for England during their World Cup run thus far.
Henderson subbed into the group stage win over Panama, in which he performed in the ultimate six minutes of the match.
Henderson was given a yellow card on Sunday for his actions on the sideline.
