Conservative political commentator Tucker Carlson shocked the world when he publicly condemned President Trump earlier this yr, particularly for violating his promise of “No New Wars.”

In February, the president called for strikes against Iran, which Carlson, who was previously a staunch supporter of the administration, considered as a whole betrayal of the MAGA motion.

After 35 years of support for the GOP and 14 years reporting for Fox News, Carlson no longer calls himself a Republican.

Now, on a campaign to create his own political social gathering, Carlson spoke with Bloomberg’s Mishal Husain about his imaginative and prescient for the future of the United States and his support for Vice President JD Vance.

Husain requested Carlson, “So, the Republican Party, the fact that you’ve left it, does that mean you’ve given up on JD Vance leading the Republican Party, being the next presidential candidate, and it being a different Republican Party than what you see now?”

Carlson said in response, “Well, I think if JD Vance were president, of course, he would not be at war with Iran.”

He went on, “It’s impossible for me to imagine JD Vance standing up and saying we need to have two wars to defeat a phantom nuclear program; it’s too insane.”

Adding, “You know, I think he has too much self-respect to say something like that. I don’t think he believes it.”

He then emphasised that many MAGA voters felt betrayed by the president going against his own “No New Wars” promise. He said, “I think JD Vance would have led the Republican Party into closer alignment with its own voters but he was not the president. He’s the vice president, and he doesn’t have the authority.”

Husain famous, “He could be the next presidential candidate.”

Carlson replied, “I wish he had been elected president in 2024, but that didn’t happen. I love JD. I’ve never been shy about that. I’ve taken a lot of abuse for saying that.”

He famous, “I probably haven’t helped him at all by saying that. I don’t agree with him on everything, of course, but I think he’s an honest, very smart, decent person. That puts him above almost all politicians I’ve ever met. And so I’m on some basic level rooting for him.”

One person responded on X saying, “Tucker Carlson merely traded one mess for another.”

JD Vance has been advocating for a peace deal in Iran for months. This week, he joined podcaster Joe Rogan to speak about the struggle.

He cautioned him that while the administration is making an attempt to negotiate an settlement with Iran to avert struggle and a potential refugee disaster, a resolute faction of the Republican Party is set to undermine these efforts.

“There are people who are super hawkish in the American system who have attacked the deal and, frankly, in some ways have tried to derail the deal. And what I always say to those people is, ‘What is your proposal? What is your actual argument?” he said to Rogan about the latest efforts to negotiate an end to the battle with Iran and stop it from turning into a bigger struggle.

While Vice President JD Vance has long been seen as the frontrunner to succeed President Trump, a report by Politico says that JD Vance might face a political “wipe out” in 2028, as his close affiliation with the Trump agenda may very well be his undoing, particularly if the current administration continues to alienate its own voter base.
