Channel 5 viewers emotional as Vanessa Feltz shares | UK News

Popular TV character Vanessa Feltz bid an emotional farewell to Channel 5 viewers during the ultimate episode of her daytime programme. The 64-year-old appeared on her eponymous show, Vanessa, for the last time on Friday (July 17), after (*5*)the broadcaster announced it was axing the show after 18 months on screen. In a assertion, a spokesperson beforehand said: “Due to afternoon scheduling changes, Vanessa will be rested from July 17.”

They added: “We thank Vanessa and her team at ITN for 18 months of warm, witty, wise, and searingly honest shows. Vanessa remains a valued member of the Channel 5 family, and we are discussing future projects together.” During her closing show, Vanessa was joined by company Danniella Westbrook, Cosmo Landesman and Lizzie Cundy. Later in the episode, the star was stunned by her daughter, Saskia Kurer, and grandson AJ, who arrived with bunches of flowers, reviews the Mirror.

During the show, Vanessa admitted: “I feel very, very sad this is the last show. To anybody who is sending me nice messages, I really appreciate it.”

She added, “I’m going to end up sniveling and sobbing. I’m OK at the moment, but I could go at any moment so bear with.”

After shocking her mum live on air, Saskia later said: “We’ve come to surprise you, because we knew that today was going to be hard. And we absolutely love you, and we couldn’t be more proud of the work that you’ve done on this show. We’re so proud of you.”

Speaking to her grandson, a surprised Vanessa then shared: “This is my AJ! It is so lovely to see you! I can’t believe that you’re here on the television, AJ!”

Saskia added: “He’s too fabulous not to share on the TV is the truth. We had to bring him along. He couldn’t possibly have grandma come off the telly and not come and say goodbye on TV. We absolutely love you and we’re so, so proud of you and all that you’ve done on Channel 5.”

Viewers have been rapidly left feeling emotional after watching the heartfelt goodbye, with one X (previously Twitter) person writing: “Really love the Vanessa Show, going to really miss it.”

Another added: “Vanessa’s family visiting her at the studio! I’m crying,” while a third said: “Oh Vanessa Feltz on 5’s final show is so emotional.. till we meet again Ms. Feltz.”

Someone else commented: “Vanessa Feltz has been my rock.”

At the end of the show, Vanessa said that she was “not going to hide under a rock” and can be launching a new online collection called At Home With Vanessa, which will probably be filmed from her home.
