Meet NYC schlub hubs — impressed by Adam…

It’s Saturday morning on Staten Island and Caroline Vazzana is swanning through city for espresso in a tomato-red kimono. It’s coated in sequins and lined with feathers; the fashion guide wears it with gold high heels.

Vazzana’s husband, Dave Lopes, stands close by.

He is, to put it mildly, not dressed something like his spouse.

New Yorker Dave Lopes doesn’t attempt to keep up with his spouse Caroline Vazzana — whose love of maximalist fashion is well-known to her social media followers.

Instead, the insurance coverage broker wears extraordinarily informal basketball shorts and a T-shirt.

Welcome to the reign of the Schlub Hubs, a group of males — celebrities and on a regular basis dudes alike — who select consolation over clean-cut, even as their companions gown like they’re extras in “The Devil Wears Prada.”

Inspired by saggy-pant celebs like Adam Sandler and Justin Bieber and inspired by the new reign of anything-goes athleisure at workplaces and eating places, these slacker brethren put on giant sweats as a second pores and skin.

The twist? Their dressy wives completely like it.

“I’d never try to change Dave’s style because that’s who he is,” said Vazzana, a 33-year-old maximalist monarch, who has grow to be well-known on social media for her love of excessive, out-there fashion

Lopes told The Post that his fashion “just naturally kind of blends into the background,” evaluating his look to a “’90s sitcom dad” like Tim Allen on Home Improvement. Think: a worn-out faculty crew neck, khaki shorts from Old Navy and beat-up Nike trainers.

“I’m not the person that’s at the forefront or center stage… I’m the background. She’s the star,” he explained.

A current TikTok video by the couple called “opposites attract” has been considered over 2.5 million instances.

Lopes likes mixing into the background, he said — letting his spouse be the star.

Long Island City tech exec Kevin Chen, 33, is also a proud schlubby hubby — and that’s okay with his important other, fashion influencer Emily Xiong.

While the 29-year-old goes gaga for luxe Dior baggage and polished Aritzia attire, she told The Post that her husband’s fashion, which consists of a tank top, basketball shorts and slides, “is totally different from mine.”

Despite often flitting through Soho in silk robes, Xiong said the only time Chen has ever worn a tuxedo was to their 2025 marriage ceremony — and only because she demanded it.

Her knight in shining shorts confirmed as a lot.

“Tank tops are my go-to for the summer,” said the unashamed slouch. “I bought a five-pack of black V-necks. That’s about the most shopping I’ve done in the past 10 years.”

But Xiong said she adores her husband’s lack of fashion know-how.

“I do prefer a partner who’s not too focused on looks and styles,” she confessed. “When I was dating, I found guys who were really focused on fashion and looking good to be a little high maintenance.”

It’s a dream setup for her man, who said, “I’m just happy to have a hot wife that I’m worthy enough to take pictures of.”

Famous dudes are embracing their Schlub Hub period, too.

During the World Cup halftime show, Justin Bieber poured his coronary heart into his efficiency — but apparently not his look, a giant polka-dot hoodie and denims that had been three sizes too big.

All the while, his spouse Hailey Bieber sizzled in a classic crimson Christian Dior gown yanked straight from a Vogue cowl.

It was just the latest instance of the couple’s “swag gap,” where Mrs. Bieber — the founder of the billion-dollar magnificence model Rhode and a current face of both Gap and Miu Miu — reveals up dressed just like the most well-known fashion model in the world… which she is. Her husband? Hoodie. Huge pants. Repeat.

Jay-Z, a fashion plate in his own proper, wore a laid-back look during a duet with his powerhouse spouse Beyoncé at his Yankee Stadium show in July.

The Brooklynite invited Queen Bey to take middle stage, where she stole the highlight in a customized Giuseppe Di Morabito capri-cut go well with and piles of diamonds.  Mr. Carter wore dishevelled black pants and a baseball jacket.

The Grand Poobah of Schlub Hubs, of course, is Adam Sandler, whose ultra-casual fashion has been called both “Big Daddy dapper” and “Meth-maker chic.”

Be it hooping with strangers in a pick-up basketball recreation, hitting the crimson carpet alongside his voguish bride, Jackie, or rolling up to Madison Square Garden to officiate Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s nuptials, the main man is loyal to his lax look, even as fashion pundits and social media customers marvel if he’s “embarrassing” his spouse on the crimson carpet.

But real-life wives of Schlub Hubs say it’s just the alternative.

Sara Camposarcone, a designer and stylist from Toronto, told The Post that she adores the lax seems of her boyfriend, Jacob Bruno.

“I’m eclectic. I love to dress in loud colors, feathers, polka dots, sequins, wild accessories,” raved Camposarcone, 30, who met Bruno, 25, a graphic designer, while swiping on Hinge last yr.

“His style does not match my aesthetic at all. He’s very chill. A T-shirt and jeans kind of guy,” she added.

The unlikely lovebirds share a common love of thrifting classic gear — her purchasing for high-end goodies, while he roots around for rock band threads. It’s a fashionably misaligned romance that the couple says retains their lives attention-grabbing.

“Jacob’s always been very supportive of what I wear, which is something that I feel like is important in our relationship,” said Camposarcone. “I like to be the center of attention, and I love that he lets me do my thing.”

And Jacob, effectively, he just loves Adam Sandler.

“I’m definitely a fan,” said the artistic with a chuckle. “I love that he doesn’t care about what he wears.”

“But he seems like a good guy who really loves his wife.”
