In his fourth season as the beginning quarterback for Palos Verdes High, Ryan Rakowski’s superpower is figuring out what to do no matter the scenario. It’s as if he has eyes in the back of his head. His potential to improvise immediately when he senses a defender closing in is the best magic act in the South Bay.
The Nevada-bound senior handed for two touchdowns and ran for three more on Thursday evening in a 35-20 victory over Carson before a standing-room-only crowd of practically 2,000 at Carson. Palos Verdes is 3-0 with spectacular wins over Gardena Serra and now Carson, the City Section Open Division title favourite.
“He does a great job keeping plays alive,” Carson coach William Lowe said of Rakowski.
