LAPD Finally Cracks Down on Street Takeovers,

How many occasions have we seen tales about huge road takeovers in Los Angeles where crowds of troublemakers do donuts with their automobiles, often injuring or even killing bystanders with the damaging maneuvers? They then transfer on to looting and trashing local companies.

And nearly every time, the story ends with a variation on the phrase, “no arrests were made.”

If you’re like me, you surprise to your self, why didn’t they shut down the streets, box in the miscreants, and then transfer in to arrest them all? That’s precisely the tactic San Francisco police officers and California Highway Patrol personnel used in March when they cornered a group of more than 100 marauding bicyclists terrorizing the streets. They issued 85 citations and seized 85 bikes.

Now that’s called taking command of the scenario. In the early hours of Saturday night time, meanwhile, the LA Police Department finally determined they’d seen enough of the rampant lawlessness that has grow to be nearly as predictable as the climate in the City of Angels:

Dozens of arrests have been made and a whole bunch of citations have been issued when the Los Angeles Police Department accomplished “Operation Street Sweeper” in a single day, busting a huge Harbor Gateway road takeover. In whole, LAPD says it arrested 69 people and cited 570 people —  including 128 juveniles who have been out past curfew. 

Law enforcement also seized a number of weapons and impounded 200 automobiles. This is how it’s carried out — and this is how it ought to have been carried out long before this.

This bust was an unequivocally good factor to tough-on-crime proponents like myself and so many others who have watched as the Defund the Police motion, “justice reform,” and soft-on-crime George Soros-backed district attorneys have turned many of our previously best cities into taking pictures galleries.

One would possibly surprise, however: Why now? What modified? Did Mayor Karen Bass finally get a mind and/or a backbone? Unlikely. Did Gov. Gavin Newsom call down from his lofty perch in Sacramento to say, “Hey, I’ve had a revelation — I really DO care about crime and the well-being of law-abiding residents!” Seems nearly not possible to think about.
