Russell Simmons Pays Tribute To Ex-Wife Kimora Lee…
Russell Simmons is getting nostalgic about his ex-wife Kimora Lee Simmons, but their daughter Aoki clearly isn’t feeling the throwback.

The disgraced music mogul jumped into the viral “Hotel Lobby” development Thursday, Sept. 24, sharing an AI-generated video of himself and Kimora seemingly performing the Migos hit. But, it was his caption about their decades-long relationship that actually acquired people speaking, particularly as a clip from Kimora’s upcoming documentary resurfaces online.
In the resurfaced footage, Kimora appears to be like back on assembly Russell while she was a younger model. She remembers repeatedly recognizing him at the end of runways before he ultimately made his manner backstage.
“I definitely was like, ‘Who is the weird guy at the end of the runway?’” she says.
Kimora says she was just 16 when she met Russell, who was 18 years her senior. She also remembers supermodel Tyra Banks attempting to keep the 2 aside–But she didn’t perceive her intentions for a long time.
“I remember Tyra kept me in her apartment through the weekend trying to avoid me going home and checking my voicemail,” Kimora remembers.
At first, Kimora says she took Banks’ actions as interference.
“I felt a little bit like she was hating for sure,” she says. “She was trying to protect me.”
While the documentary clip has reignited conversations about how their relationship started, Russell’s Instagram post targeted on the bond they’ve maintained over the years.
“We worked good as a team,” he wrote, reflecting on their 15 years of courting and marriage. He added that they spent another 20 years as “very close friends and co parents.”
Russell also referenced their “conscious uncoupling and coparenting” and said he stays obtainable to their three godchildren.
“I am sincerely Praying for your continued success,” he wrote. “Congratulations on your new documentry.”
Aoki Lee Simmons, Russell and Kimora’s daughter, apparently wasn’t moved by the sentimental message.
“S**t like this is why Ming and I don’t follow you,” she commented, referencing her and her sister’s tumultuous relationship with their father.
Kimora has yet to remark on the video.
