The 49ers chosen Dante Pettis in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Eight years later, the vast receiver is returning to where his NFL journey began: San Francisco.

Pettis, who turns 31 next month, is signing with the 49ers to fill a depth chart spot to an ailing vast receiver room. He gained’t be a top vast receiver for the crew, but he brings expertise with head coach Kyle Shanahan’s sytem.
The 49ers hosted Pettis as properly as eight other gamers for a tryout Tuesday. It seems the former second round pick’s work out went properly as he ends the day with a 49ers deal.
San Francisco has an open spot on its follow squad, which can probably be crammed by Pettis once the signing is made official.

Pettis spent the first two seasons of his NFL profession in the Bay Area, but never performed a full season. In 2020, the 49ers waived the wideout and he spent the rest of the 12 months with the Giants.
Since then, he’s made stints with the Bears and Saints. Pettis performed 16 video games in New Orleans across two seasons, tallying 227 whole yards and a landing.
The 49ers accidents to its vast receiver corps has been unrelenting this season, thus additions like Pettis have been made as a depth transfer.
