The sister of Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei and her husband Holden Karnofsky used the toys as a “personal advisory council,” according to the piece printed Wednesday in The Atlantic.

Meanwhile, Dario had grown deeply distrustful of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and Brockman and was contemplating leaving the company with a group of safety-focused researchers, the report said.
The Amodeis ultimately shaped what some colleagues dubbed “Dario’s clique,” setting up personal Slack channels and holding separate conferences centered closely on AI security.
By 2020, Dario was recruiting colleagues to depart OpenAI and launch a new company centered on building superior AI fashions with a stronger emphasis on security.
