Dems See Their Opportunity Over the Trump-Russia | Political News
As per common, Democrats are casting shade on President Donald Trump’s diesel deal with Russia and threatening motion, particularly when they retake energy after the midterms… or so they assume.
But those in the lukewarm Republican crowd are also placing in their two cents: that the U.S. has betrayed Ukraine and has gotten in mattress with Russia. That the president’s transfer is illegitimate and violates congressional approval, and that because of this, he’s going to lose the midterms.
Rinse. Repeat.
Trump goes to blame everybody for shedding the election. The actuality is Trump, and Trump alone, has pushed the GOP into the toilet. He owns this.

Poor Pradheep is out-and-outright blackpilling at this level, saying that you do not have to vote Democrat, but you’ll be able to no longer vote Republican because it is now the celebration which helps fascists and dictators.
If Republicans are going to help fascists, communists, and dictators, that’s even one less purpose to vote for Republicans over Democrats. Independents have fewer and fewer causes to vote GOP this 12 months.

Even Republican lawmakers are lining up against the president. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) penned a love observe on X to Zelensky and Ukraine, letting him know that he and the nation had Congress’ overwhelming help.
I do not recall Fitzpatrick ever going this onerous for President Trump or the American people. Just sayin’.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has the overwhelming help of the United States Congress, he has the overwhelming help of the American people, and he has the overwhelming help of the Ukrainian people. Russian illegally invaded Ukraine, a sovereign and freedom-loving nation, and Russia is squarely to blame for all harm and destruction, to both lives and treasure, that has resulted from Putin’s unprovoked assault. @ZelenskyyUa, you already know that the United States Congress, and the American people, stand 100% behind you. The Ukrainian people are so blessed to have you ever main them in these tough occasions. We have your back, and we are going to stand with you until Ukrainian victory is achieved. 🇺🇸 🇺🇦

So, when did Fitzpatrick grow to be House Speaker? And would not Congress taking motion require they really be in session? Last we checked, they have been out vacationing campaigning. Currently, diesel costs in Pennsylvania are $6.60 a gallon, so if this deal goes to decrease that quantity, I suspect PA constituents do not actually give a flying fig about Ukraine or Congress.
Like the good, performative RINO Fitzpatrick is, he says he might be submitting laws to block Trump’s motion. Of course, by the time Congress is back in session, diesel costs will in all probability be down, and Fitzpatrick could be out of a job.
Ma tha Siobhan (If God is merciful).
We might be introducing bipartisan laws to block any and all purchases of Russian oil. It might be called the “Ronald Reagan Peace Through Strength Act.” It might be compelled to the Floor via discharge and it would go overwhelmingly. #PeaceThroughStrength

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) is also taking the president to process and demanding that the whole lot stop until Congress can weigh in on this deal.
A few weeks in the past, Congress overwhelmingly handed laws to increase sanctions and tariffs on Russia. The President needs to be utilizing those authorities instead of permitting Russia to export diesel, rake in revenues, and continue its catastrophic struggle in Ukraine. We can focus on Russia’s return to global power markets once the struggle is over, but in the meantime, we need to cut off the whole lot fueling it. https://t.co/KPkEoDy1Np
— Sen. Lisa Murkowski (@lisamurkowski) October 10, 2026
Murkowski just isn’t up for reelection until 2028, proving that it is easy to faux to act robust when you’ve got obtained nothing to lose.
Democrats are the most gleeful in all this, and they’ve their speaking factors locked in. They are virtually frothing at the mouth about regaining the majorities in Congress, and their spin on this Russian diesel deal has given them the good alternative.
So Trump’s “deal” with Russia is to: -pay Russia to import diesel (which will not decrease power prices) -so that they will take the money and bomb Ukraine -and use it to help Iran bomb Americans and our allies Why are we right here? Because House Republicans refused to allow us to vote on a stronger sanctions invoice. Instead, they handed an optionally available one, and this is the consequence. We need new management in Congress FAST.

It’s still 22 days to the midterms, and whichever aspect takes Congress, there’s still that matter of swearing in members and electing new leaders. So… not gonna occur that fast.
The soon-to-be retired Steny Hoyer (MD-05) is also grandstanding and demanding Congress act… which, if they do, will probably be after he is long gone.
It is outrageous for the President to buy tons of diesel from Russia when he not too long ago signed laws that imposed the hardest sanctions on its oil and fuel. Congress must take motion against this motion to fuel the very struggle of aggression in Ukraine that our sanctions are meant to stop. https://t.co/97SIjyLgEB

And of course, Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) is already salivating over another chunk at the impeachment apple and indictments of the Trump cupboard once Democrats regain energy. Because Ukraine corruption is A-OK, but supposed Trump administration corruption? It just can’t stand!
This is the most corrupt President in historical past. He would not even cover it, but this Republican Congress is just too afraid to even criticize him. A Democratic Congress will examine the corruption and maintain Trump accountable.
— Senator Patty Murray (@PattyMurray) October 11, 2026
Bottom line: More corruption is being unearthed than what seems on the floor, and the Deep State is tough at work gaslighting, pointing fingers, and inserting blame.
As for Democrats, they’re blissful to rehash Russia! Russia! Russia! all over again…because it labored so properly the last time.
Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will decide the destiny of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must keep control of both chambers of Congress.
