Michael Bisping doesn't want to see Alexander | MMA News
Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski desires to face light-weight titleholder Justin Gaethje in a retirement struggle next. UFC CEO Dana White was open to the thought, but not everybody prefer it.
Former middleweight champion Michael Bisping laid out why he doesn’t want to see the 2 matched up.
“In the light-weight division, Justin Gaethje has obtained a clearcut No. 1 contender in Arman Tsarukyan. There’s also Charles Oliveira that he’s misplaced to that’s preventing Diego Lopes. There’s Max Holloway that he’s misplaced to. So he’s not in the same form of – Listen, the person’s a legend, superior profession, but he’s obtained work to do in the light-weight division,” Bisping said on the Believe You Me Podcast.
“Volkanovski, does he deserve a third shot? I’m not saying he does or he doesn’t, but he’s already had two photographs at turning into a light-weight champ. And to be trustworthy, the’s a method legacy for Volkanovski,” added the previous champion.
“I’m just saying, if I had been Justin Gaethje sitting right here proper now, I’d be like, effectively, I’m going to take a likelihood. I’m going to take a man that’s coming up a weight class, so it’s win-win for him regardless. And if he had been to lose, it’s not the best look and then he loses his belt and then what, retires. … I’d perceive if Justin Gaethje was hesitant to want to do that.”
