American Airlines staff defends drunk passengers…

A drunk American Airlines passenger was inflicting turbulence at Chicago O’Hare airport.

A visibly drunk Concierge Key member — the invite-only top-tier standing within the AAdvantage program— used his standing to wreak havoc in the flagship airport lounge on Sunday.

The passenger allegedly demanded altering the TV channel, spouted off homophobic slurs to other passengers and assaulted the staff, View From The Wing reported.

Reportedly, no motion was taken in response because “he has high status.”

The individual who reported the disturbance was touring with another male companion and said the drunk flyer was sporting a Ritz-Carlton hat and was utilizing his elite standing to justify his rowdy habits.

He reportedly entered the airport lounge and insisted that they change the TV channel to golf, even though a number of patrons had been already watching the Chicago Cubs sport against the Pittsburgh Pirates and objected to the channel change.

After the lounge staff sided with the bulk and said the Cubs sport would keep on TV, the intoxicated man grabbed the distant from the staff member, forcing them to transfer away.

He declared that his Concierge Key standing gave him the authority to do so and started to take photos of the workers’ identify badges in an effort to intimidate them and report them.

The man continued to mock those watching the sport, saying they shouldn’t watch “little kid baseball.”

As the sport went on, he threw a beer cap at the patrons in the lounge watching and later yelled, “Why don’t you go f–k your boyfriend, you fat f–k.”

After the outburst, another buyer demanded that the person be eliminated from the lounge, but the entrance desk agent reportedly said that the person was a Concierge Key “very VIP,” and wouldn’t be eliminated.

The supervisor intervened only after the client famous that he, too, had elite standing as a 15-year buyer who had earned Executive Platinum standing a number of instances.

The drunk man’s elite standing may probably be revoked if the issue is escalated high enough, contemplating it was not just a harassment issue but also a potential safety-of-flight issue.

As View From The Wing identified, a drunk and unruly passenger in an airport lounge can develop into a hazard in the air.

The time and date of the incident weren’t reported, but the Cubs vs. Pirates sport occurred on Sunday, Aug. 17.
