Annie Lennox, 70, who shot to worldwide stardom with her hit ‘Sweet Dreams’ as half of the band Eurythmics, has confronted quite a few health challenges behind the scenes. Despite reaching fame alongside Dave Stewart in the Nineteen Eighties, life post-success hasn’t always been plain crusing. The singer admitted that she had been grappling with problems from a surgical procedure she underwent more than 10 years in the past. In 2019, Annie confided in fans about her health, revealing that she had undergone a back operation years earlier. “Over a decade in the past I had to have a back operation and a lot of issues modified after that,” she divulged. “Long story.. but I often endure from excruciating nerve pain, which comes in with vengeance when I least count on it.”

Several days following her original post, she disclosed that touring was no longer possible due to “such bodily challenges”.

The ordeal began in 2008 during an AIDS conference in Mexico, where the performer suffered a back spasm.

Annie was swiftly transported back to London for spinal surgery to address a trapped nerve, according to a Sony BMG representative.

A trapped nerve, which may develop when surrounding muscles, bones, cartilage or tendons apply excessive pressure to a nerve, frequently causes pain, tingling, numbness or weakness. Despite the operation, she has continued to endure persistent pain.

Whilst recovering, the celebrity wrote on her blog: “Got an MRI scan this morning and am now sitting up in mattress with my left foot like a useless fish.”

She confessed to the Scotsman that she had developed a limp, though remained hopeful, saying it “ain’t dangerous” given she initially worried about being “completely disabled” after the back pain struck in Mexico.
