“It’s really tough to control your emotions when you lose in the final of the Grand Slam and when you were trying to go for three-peat,” she told reporters in a post-match press convention. “So I just needed to let it go, because if I’d maintain it inside, proper now or right here or there on the court, I wouldn’t find a way to say a phrase or I’d just go not likely good over there.
“So I just wanted to let all of that aggression and disappointment go outside.”
It was the second time this 12 months that Rybakina bounced Sabalenka from another Grand Slam title, taking her down at the Australian Open remaining in January.
