Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has revealed that the state authorities is in discussions with filmmaker Aditya Dhar to direct a big-budget biopic on legendary Ahom common Lachit Borphukan. The announcement was made during a Facebook Live session on Thursday, July 16.

According to the chief minister, the proposed movie goals to carry the life and legacy of one of Assam’s most celebrated historic figures to a national and worldwide viewers through a Bollywood-scale manufacturing.
Talks underway with Aditya Dhar
Sharing an update on the project, Sarma said discussions are presently being held with Aditya Dhar, best recognized for directing the National Award-winning Uri: The Surgical Strike and the upcoming Dhurandhar.

The chief minister also revealed that he’s scheduled to meet Dhar in August to talk about the proposed movie in element.
