Authorities tow suspicious car outside Texas AG | Political News

Authorities had been seen towing a suspicious vehicle outside the Dallas resort where Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is slated to have his election evening watch celebration.

Paxton is working for U.S. Senate and was making an attempt on Tuesday to usurp incumbent Sen. John Cornyn, also a Republican and a subscriber to the MAGA agenda, in the state’s main elections forward of the 2026 midterms in November.

Footage posted on X by a CBS 11 reporter exhibits the authorities hooking up the car to a tow truck after looking out it and discovering a large quantity of ammunition — but no weapons. The ammunition was decided to be of different sorts for different weapons, with the authorities noting that some of it was for a rifle.

The driver was arrested at the scene, but the costs he faces, if any, stay unclear. It’s also unclear whether or not his arrest or presence in entrance of the Marriott Dallas Uptown had something to do with Paxton’s event, the doorways for which opened at 6 p.m., with the event slated to start at 7 p.m. when the polls closed.

An image of the inside of the vehicle, which is a deep blue four-door Chrysler sedan, exhibits a multitude of plastic Target purchasing baggage littering the ground on the entrance passenger aspect, a number of drinks with straws in cupholders and what seems to be a quantity of articles of clothes. The car had no license plates.

The suspect, who has not been named, was detained just before 6 p.m. CST. He was sporting a camouflage face masks, sun shades, a hat and gloves.

A member of Paxton’s marketing campaign said he noticed the person enter the resort and ask to use the restroom. He said he spoke with the person briefly, who told him that he was an Uber driver, but the employees member told The New York Times that he doubted that story, particularly after observing that the car he was driving had no plates.

The cops reportedly discovered a license plate inside the vehicle during their search.

An announcement from the Dallas Police Department obtained by Daily Express US said officers had been notified of a “suspicious individual” in the 3000 block of Fairmount Street at roughly 5:16 p.m.

“The individual entered a vehicle that did not display a proper license plate and left the area,” the assertion reads.

“Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver was arrested for traffic violations,” it continues. “During an inventory search of the vehicle, officers located ammunition.”
