Almost three many years later, we’re still not over B.A.P.S. As we have a good time the 90s cult traditional movie, try what the B.A.P.S. forged is doing today.
The 1997 comedy turned two hairdressers from Georgia into cultural icons and gave us one of the most quotable Black movies of the last decade. If you grew up rewatching this film on repeat, you already know the glamorous costuming, the accents and the one liners lived rent free in our heads long after the credit rolled. A current Black Hollywood YouTube video took a deep dive into the forged, and it reminded us just how a lot this movie still issues.
Though many of the forged members are no longer right here with us, these stars went on to create a lasting influence in Hollywood. The Hollywood Reporter shared that Natalie Desselle Reid, who portrayed Mickey in B.A.P.S., handed at 53 from a personal battle with colon cancer. The actress and comedic expertise was also a recurring character in the UPN sitcom, Eve. Reid is among a few of B.A.P.S. forged members who are no longer residing. Yet, their vibrancy onscreen lives on endlessly.
