31-year-old Barstool contributor Cody “Beef” Franke handed away at 31 years previous due to a “sudden medical issue” over the weekend, as confirmed by the Fore Play podcast. Barstool founder and CEO Dave Portnoy— a famous golf fanatic — was among those to lead the tributes.

“Barstool lost a member of our family this weekend. Just tragic news,” he tweeted.”You will never find a nicer more genuine person than Beef. It’s hard to even process it right now. Just another cruel reminder that tomorrow is never promised and to live each day to its fullest.”

The Fore Play podcast — a well-liked Barstool show that has collaborated with the likes of Tommy (*31*) and other golfers — was the first to announce the news.“We are beyond devastated to announce that our dear friend and beloved Barstool Sports colleague, Cody “Beef” Franke, handed away from a sudden medical issue over the weekend,” they wrote in a assertion.

“Cody really beloved the sport of golf. He selflessly spent a lot of his life serving to others improve and benefit from the recreation.”

Franke was in the Dominican Republic attending a wedding, according to a report from GWN. His exact cause of death is still unknown.

Before contributing to Barstool, Franke was the head golf pro at the Berry Creek Country Club in Onida, Wisconsin. He gained notoriety online by posting videos of himself playing.

Many others from across the golf community joined in the tributes. “Heartbreaking news,” wrote golf influencer Paige Spiranac on X. “He was such a form and good individual.”

The official PGA Championship account also penned a note to Franke, posting a photo of the 31-year-old at the tournament. “Remembering our time with Cody Franke, PGA, at Quail Hollow. Our ideas are with Cody’s household and pals,” it read.
